I can’t believe it’s been almost 1 month since I’ve posted a recipe. This past month has been quite hectic with a few mishaps thrown in for good measure. Let’s see.. 1st my mac charger died AGAIN, this is the third charger that I’ve had to replace (I’m beginning to think someone is trying to sabotage me). Why you say, well, the charger keeps shredding at the same spot, the culprit is either my cat, or my one year old. They both have the destructive force or 1000 tornados.

And of course the one that has kept me from the kitchen, my damaged thumb. A couple of weeks ago I got the brilliant idea to make some fresh carrot juice. Juicing carrots isn’t an inherently dangerous activity (well… assuming you keep your fingers away from the blades of the juicer), but it’s the preparation that almost left me as a nine fingered mommy. I was trying to split a carrot with chef knife, with wet hands (Gosh… now that I typed that out I realized how STUPID that was), I managed to filet my thumb down to the tendons. After about 4 hours in the ER I emerged with 6 stitches and a finger that looks like it was chewed up by a rabid alien (hyperbole much, but still…).

On a brighter note, last monday I took the servSafe, food safety program for manager’s certification exam. I’m happy to report that I’m now certified to handle food safely (YEAH!!!).
